  • Acted for government agencies in complex claims on behalf of charitable interests and persons with disabilities against executors of estates.
  • Advised clients in multi-faceted international insolvency and fraud matters, including contempt proceedings.
  • Advised clients on the enforcement of foreign judgments and orders and conflict of laws issues.
  • Acted for companies in intellectual property disputes, including injunctive relief.
  • Represented shareholders in disputes over ownership of corporations and in cases of corporate wrongdoing, including oppression remedy and derivative action proceedings.
  • Advised investment advisors and investment and securities companies in claims for negligent investment advice.
  • Acted for clients on suits claiming breach of lending commitments by financial institutions.
  • Advised clients with competition (anti-trust) issues.
  • Acted for beneficiaries of a large estate in proceedings to remove an executor for malfeasance and recover money.
  • Represented publisher in intellectual property claim regarding ownership of idea for publication.
  • Advised franchisors in proceedings by franchisees for rescission of contract.

  • Advisor, the Canadian Coalition Against Terror, lead advocacy group for Bill C-35, An Act to amend the State Immunity Act and the Criminal Code, on permitting suits against foreign state sponsors of terrorism
