Cameron has a broad business law practice, working closely with clients as a trusted advisor to help drive innovation, create value and manage risk. He acts for a variety of market participants, including start-ups, emerging and high-growth companies, venture capital and private equity investors, family offices, and other alternative capital providers.

Cameron regularly advises clients on the acquisition, disposition and growth of Canadian businesses, financing transactions, corporate governance, shareholder activism, and complex corporate reorganizations. He also provides support on family enterprise matters, including shareholder succession and transition initiatives.

Cameron received his ICD.D designation from the Institute of Corporate Directors in 2022, the only professional designation for Canadian directors recognized both nationally and internationally. He currently serves as a director and advisory board member of several private businesses. Prior to joining BLG, Cameron was the co-managing partner of a boutique tax and business law firm with offices in Vancouver, Calgary, and Toronto.

  • The Fastener Group, a market leading distributor of fasteners, tools, safety gear, and other related accessories in BC, Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba, on its partnership with TriWest Capital Partners, one of Canada's leading private equity firms.
  • IR Labs Inc., a leading Canadian investor relations agency, on the cross-border sale of all of its issued and outstanding shares to Alliance Advisors, LLC, a global shareholder engagement and advisory firm.
  • ZayZoon Inc., on its US$15 million Series B extension led by Viola FinTech, with participation from Intuit Ventures, Framework Venture Partners, and Export Development Canada.
  • ZayZoon Inc., on its US$34.5 million Series B financing led by Framework Venture Partners, with participation from Export Development Canada, ATB Financial, and a number of ZayZoon's shareholders.
  • Whitewater Management Ltd. and its majority shareholders, on the sale of Whitewater and its subsidiary, Catalyst Production Systems, to Hillcore Group, a leading independent Canadian investment and advisory firm.
  • Force Inspection Services Inc., on the acquisition of Shawcor Ltd.'s oilfield asset management division and related acquisition financing (debt and equity), establishing Force Inspection as the preeminent Western Canadian provider of full-service inspection, repair, and machining of oilfield tubulars and related services.
  • A private Alberta-based provided of electrical power and distribution products and services, on the cross-border sale of all of its issued and outstanding shares to RESA Power, LLC, an Investcorp portfolio company.
  • A private Alberta-based carbon capture and storage developer focused on the development, capitalization, and operation of carbon storage assets throughout North America, on its cross-border reorganization, US$5 million initial capital contribution and US$150 million follow-on capital commitment from Grey Rock Investment Partners.
  • A private Alberta-based provider of technology-forward transmission line inspection services, on the cross-border sale of its business and assets to Surveying and Mapping, LLC, a Peak Rock Capital portfolio company.
  • Variperm Canada Limited, a SCF Partners portfolio company, on its cross-border acquisition of RGL Reservoir Management Inc. and its wholly-owned U.S.-subsidiary, Pacific Perforating, Inc., establishing Variperm as a global leader in the sand and flow control space with operations in Canada and the United States.
  • A private Alberta-based advanced energy and environmental technology company, on the spinout of two non-core technologies and the subsequent acquisition by Nano Innovations Inc.
  • TooliTech Inc., a BC-based technology company specializing in innovative, sustainable, industrial-scale cryptocurrency mining, on a variety of corporate commercial matters including seed and early-stage financing rounds.
  • A private Alberta-based fluids management company with operations across Western Canada, on a variety of corporate and commercial matters including a tax-efficient recapitalization and shareholder succession initiative.
  • A private Alberta-based FinTech company on a variety of corporate and commercial matters including seed and early-stage financing rounds, the latter of which was led by a technology-focused venture capital firm.
  • A public Alberta-based software and technology company on a variety of corporate and commercial matters including dilutive and non-dilutive financings, the divestiture of a non-core business unit, and the development of its cleantech enhanced oil recovery technology.
  • An Alberta-based private equity firm in connection with the formation and capitalization of its investment funds and related debt and equity investment strategies.
  • A private investment fund in connection with its tax-driven restructuring.
