Patrick represents clients in a wide range of public and private law matters, including administrative, regulatory, constitutional, human rights, commercial and criminal cases.

Patrick has worked on matters before all levels of court, including the Supreme Court of Canada, the Court of Appeal for Ontario, the Ontario Superior Court of Justice, the Ontario Court of Justice, and various boards.

Before joining BLG, Patrick articled in criminal defence and clerked for the Honourable Justice David Stratas at the Federal Court of Appeal. During law school, Patrick received the Lieutenant-Governor’s Silver Medal for obtaining the highest class standing in his second and third years. He also received the Law Faculty Prize for being recognized as the most outstanding graduate. Throughout his studies, he concurrently served as a Naval Warfare Officer in the Royal Canadian Navy.

Experience

  • Defending a client regulator against charges of malicious prosecution before the Ontario Superior Court of Justice.
  • Defending a client energy company in a motion for leave to appeal before the Court of Appeal for Ontario.
  • Prior to joining BLG – Defended corporate and individual clients against criminal charges before various courts, including the Court of Appeal for Ontario and the Ontario Superior Court of Justice.
