Briggs is a litigator with experience assisting clients from a broad array of industries, including acting for oil, gas and electricity clients in both litigation and regulatory matters.
Briggs does both trial and appellate work and has appeared before the Court of King’s Bench of Alberta and the Court of Appeal of Alberta. He has also assisted with matters before the Alberta Utilities Commission and the Canada Energy Regulator.
Briggs also advises clients on lobbyist registrations, government accountability and election laws. He assists corporate executives, companies and organizations to adopt strategies and policies to ensure lobbying law compliance.
Briggs further acts as counsel to Indigenous clients on self-governance, constitutional law, regulatory compliance, disputes, elections law, and business development. He represents First Nations in litigation and alternative dispute matters, including aboriginal and treaty rights issues.
