As a Summer Law Student, Marna is assisting lawyers on a wide variety of tasks within our Business and Disputes groups.
Marna is entering her third year of study at the University of Ottawa’s Faculty of Law. She has seized opportunities to develop her written and oral advocacy skills, as well as her legal research skills, namely through competitive mooting and as a Dean’s Research and Writing Fellow. Last Summer, Marna completed an internship in criminal defence, where she worked closely on files, shadowed lawyers at the Ottawa Courthouse, and appeared before the Ontario Court of Justice for remand proceedings. Prior to attending law school, Marna obtained an Honours degree in Political Science from the University of British Columbia.
Marna chose BLG because of its breadth of practice areas and strong mentorship culture. She was impressed to meet many seasoned litigators who have built thriving and eclectic practices at BLG.
In her spare time, Marna frequents cafés in her neighbourhood, tests new recipes, and reads widely. Rain or shine, she enjoys walks by the beach.
