Colleen is an articling student at BLG’s Toronto office for the 2024-2025 term. She is focusing on disputes law.

As a law student, Colleen was the VP of Mentorship and Dual Student Representative for the Black Law Student Association, a peer mentor, a Research Coordinator for the Human Rights Law Association and volunteered with the Pro Bono Students Canada in the Youth ID Clinic at the University of Windsor. At the University of Detroit Mercy, Colleen was an Associate Board Member for the Moot Court Board of Advocacy, the Student Representative for Lawyers Lending Hands and served on the school’s Honor Council.

Colleen was recognized by her peers for her community involvement by receiving the J.W. Whiteside Award from the Windsor Faculty of Law.

Prior to joining law school, Colleen worked at an appraisal firm and as a supervisor in the operations team at a mortgage institution that provides mortgage registrations and other loan related services to a number of financial institutions across Canada.

Colleen chose to work at BLG because of the firm’s strong diversity and inclusion initiatives. She was especially drawn to initiatives that offer support and training to minority groups and women in the legal profession.

In Colleen’s spare time, she loves spending time with her family, going to the movies, dinner, trying new recipes and travelling.
