Lidiya is an experienced trial and appellate advocate who specializes in health law and litigation with a particular focus on complex medical negligence actions and regulatory proceedings. Lidiya has represented clients in lengthy and complex civil actions as well as proceedings before the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario, Health Professions Appeal and Review Board, and matters under the Public Hospitals Act, Coroner’s Inquests and before the Consent and Capacity Board. Lidiya has also acted as counsel in successful appeals and judicial review applications before the Ontario Superior Court of Justice, Ontario Court of Appeal, and the Federal Court of Canada.
Lidiya also practices corporate-commercial litigation. Lidiya has represented regulated professionals and business in various corporate-commercial disputes, including litigation and arbitration matters.
Lidiya serves as an instructor for the Trial Advocacy Course at Osgoode Hall Law School. In addition, Lidiya is frequently asked to speak at professional development events and seminars on trial advocacy, legal practice, and professionalism subjects.
