Janzel primarily assists with insurance defences, particularly transportation, aviation, and automobile defence as well as life and disability claims. Additionally, Janzel also has experience with marine defence, professional negligence claims, commercial litigation and arbitration and oil and gas matters.
Within her role, Janzel has a variety of responsibilities, including:
- Drafting pleadings
- Fact gathering and analysis
- Preparing for discoveries, motions, mediations, and trial
- Conducting legal research
- Assessing quantum
- Communicating with clients and related parties.
She frequently assists the firm’s lawyers in managing large, complex cases involving voluminous document discovery.
Prior to joining BLG, Janzel interned at International Rights Advocates, a non-profit international human rights litigation group based in Washington, D.C. While with the non-profit, she assisted senior international human rights lawyers in litigation against U.S. corporations for violations under the Alien Tort Statute, the Torture Victim Protection Act and various state laws.
