Laura’s practice encompasses a broad range of complex commercial and civil litigation. She has experience in all stages of the litigation process, from preliminary motions and injunctions through trial and appeals.
Laura advises and represents clients in a range of matters, including:
- contractual disputes
- commercial leasing, land development and complex construction disputes
- professional negligence claims
- defamation claims
- medical malpractice claims
- hospital privileges matters
Laura has appeared before the Superior Court of Justice of Ontario, the Divisional Court, the Court of Appeal for Ontario, the Federal Court of Canada, and the Health Professions Appeal and Review Board.
Prior to joining BLG, Laura practiced at a leading, full-service firm in New York, where she represented and advised U.S. corporations from a variety of industries, including clients in the cellular telecommunications and banking industries.
Laura then practiced at a leading commercial litigation boutique in Toronto, where she represented and advised clients in a broad range of complex commercial and civil litigation matters.
From 2010-2011, Laura served as a law clerk to Chief Justice Warren K. Winkler, Justice Karen M. Weiler, and Justice Gloria J. Epstein of the Court of Appeal for Ontario.
