Yasmin is a student in BLG’s Ottawa office for the 2023 summer term. She is focusing on Disputes and Corporate law.
Prior to law school, Yasmin worked as a co-op student at Canadian Border Services Agency and Correctional Service Canada.
In law school, Yasmin worked as a caseworker in the Family Law Clinic at Downtown Legal Services. Yasmin volunteered with Law in Action Within Schools, tutoring high school students who are newcomers to Canada. She also did research for the David Asper Centre for Constitutional Rights in their Privacy Law and Environmental Justice working groups.
Yasmin chose BLG because of the firm’s broad range of practice areas and opportunities for students, as well as the firm’s friendly environment.
In her free time, Yasmin is an amateur oil painter and enjoys skiing and reading contemporary fiction and feminist literature.
