Jiwan maintains a disputes practice with a focus on labour, employment, human rights, and privacy law.
She advises public and private sector clients on a variety of matters, including:
- Employment standards,
- Employee discipline and terminations,
- Human rights and workplace accommodations,
- Freedom of information requests and appeals,
- Policy development,
- Privacy and data protection law compliance.
Jiwan summered and articled at BLG before returning as an associate. During articling, she was seconded a Toronto-based hospital network's legal department where she gained experience in advising on a variety of health law issues. During law school, Jiwan worked as a privacy officer and a volunteer caseworker for legal aid clinics. She also interned at a leading firm to produce automated contract-generating software.
