Kevin has a broad financial services and business law practice. He specializes in acting for lenders on secured and unsecured debt financing transactions of all types in numerous different industries.

Kevin also specializes in financial institution regulation and compliance. Kevin's financing expertise includes:

  • syndicated lending
  • senior cash flow, mezzanine, auto and dealership financing
  • leveraged finance transactions
  • asset-based lending
  • structured, trade, consumer and supply chain finance
  • equipment leasing, insolvency, restructuring, workouts and general corporate/commercial matters

He provides regulatory analysis and advice to financial services providers regarding establishment, expansion, business powers, transactions and operations in Canada and internationally.

From 1995-1998, Kevin was in-house counsel with a Canadian Schedule I bank.

Experience

  • Represented international lenders regarding a syndicated C$250 million asset-based lending credit facility to a corporation involved in the organic food business.
  • Represented a Schedule 1 Canadian bank regarding the establishment of a C$100 million supply chain finance program and the establishment of a C$200 million insured receivables purchas program for a corporation in the aerospace industry.
  • Represented lenders regarding the syndicated financing and subsequent restructuring of C$200 million in credit facilities provided to a corporation operating in the paper/forestry industry in Canada.
  • Represented a Canadian Schedule 1 bank and subsequently a syndicate of lenders in providing multiple credit facilities in an amount of up to C$250 million regarding an environmental management services corporation operating across Canada.
  • Represented international lenders regarding operating and financing an amount of up to C$345 million for a corporation operating in the product distribution industry.
  • Represented lenders in connection with multiple hotel financing transactions.
  • Represented lenders regarding the syndicated leveraged financing of a private equity group's C$150 million acquisition of a large portfolio of quick service restaurant locations across Canada.
  • Represented lenders regarding the syndicated C$225 million financing of a paving and construction group of companies.
  • Represented lenders regarding the syndicated C$150 million financing of a post-production video services company
  • Represented a group of international lenders regarding a syndicated C$180 million acquisition financing of a transportation and logistics company operating throughout Canada and the United States.
