Simon's practice is primarily focused on construction and surety law. He is known for his extensive litigation experience, thoroughness, hard work and dedication to our clients' success.

Simon advises sureties in all aspects of their business from underwriting issues, including the negotiation of indemnity and security agreements, to the handling of claims and collection litigation.

He also represents and advises general contractors, insurers, real estate developers, engineers and owners on matters relating to construction hypothecs, calls for tenders, professional liability and claims for additional work and impact costs.

Simon actively participates in the preparation of litigation files and pleads before all courts in Québec.

Experience

  • Represents and advises property owners, promoters, contractors, subcontractors, materials suppliers, bonding companies, and insurers on matters involving all facets of the construction industry.
  • Represents manufacturers and defends them in product liability claims.
  • Acts for bonding companies in claims related to performance and labour material bonds.
