Logan’s practice focuses on health advocacy, privacy, freedom of information, mental health advocacy and medico-legal defence.

Logan specializes in providing incident and risk management advice to hospitals and health care organizations when they are faced with complex privacy incidents or potential litigation. He also represents those same organizations as defence counsel. Logan has appeared before all levels of court in Ontario as well as before the Human Rights Tribunal and Information and Privacy Commissioner.

While studying at Queen’s University, Logan served for two years as a member of the University Senate, Law Students Society, Society of Graduate and Professional Students, and Law Faculty Board. He also spent one semester as an exchange student at the University of Hong Kong.

He was a summer and articling student with BLG before joining the firm as a lawyer in 2013.

Experience

  • Representing the Hospital for Sick Children in a proposed class action regarding the work of the Motherisk Drug Testing Laboratory.
  • Represented hospitals and hospital staff in medical malpractice and other civil lawsuits, as counsel to the Healthcare Insurance Reciprocal of Canada (HIROC).
  • Advises hospitals and healthcare facilities on a variety of issues, including adverse event management and privacy breach scenarios.
  • Advises public and private sector clients on responding to freedom of information access requests in Ontario and across Canada.
  • Represents hospitals before human rights tribunals.
