Calgary (November 1, 2024) – Borden Ladner Gervais LLP (BLG) is pleased to welcome Bianca Kratt K.C. to the firm as a partner in our Calgary Commercial Real Estate Group.
Bianca is an accomplished commercial real estate lawyer with over 20 years of local and national experience. Bianca’s practice touches on all aspects of commercial real estate, including leasing, acquisitions and dispositions, banking and secured transactions, and project development. Bianca regularly advises clients on a variety of real estate transactions, including with respect to multi-tenanted complexes, and commercial and industrial properties. She is also a trusted advisor on corporate and commercial matters.
Prior to joining BLG, Bianca worked as a Practice Group Leader of the corporate, banking, and real estate group at a regional firm.

Bianca is Indigenous and a proud member of the Huron-Wendat First Nation. She is passionate about her legal work in the community and acts to improve and promote access to justice. She is a Member of the Law Commission of Canada – Advisory Council and served as a member of the Independent Advisory Board for Supreme Court of Canada Judicial Appointments in 2023.
She contributes her time and skills to the legal profession by serving on the Board of the National Canadian Bar Association as Chair of the Governance and Equity Committee. Bianca has been elected to serve as Vice President of the National Canadian Bar Association (CBA) for 2024-2025 and will assume the role of National President for 2025-2026. She served as the President of the Canadian Bar Association (Alberta Branch) in 2021-2022. Bianca is also actively involved with the Association des Juristes d’Expression Française de l’Alberta (AJEFA), including as a past-President, promoting access to legal services in French in Alberta and across the country. Further, Bianca works with the Advisory Committee of the International Association of Women Judges, Canadian Chapter, dedicated to promoting the interests and contributions of women in the legal profession.
Bianca practices law in both French and English and is a member of the Law Society of Alberta and the Barreau du Québec. She received her Bachelor of Civil Law (BCL) in 2002 from the Université Laval, her Bachelor of Common Law (LLB) in 2004 from the University of Manitoba, and a Master of Laws (LLM), Financial Law, from York University – Osgoode Hall Law School, in 2022. She was called to the bar in Alberta in 2005 and in Québec in 2002.
