National (Oct. 30, 2024) - Borden Ladner Gervais LLP (BLG) congratulates partner Laurie Goldbach on her appointment as a Judge of the Tax Court of Canada.

Laurie joined BLG’s Tax Group in 2017, quickly distinguishing herself as a leader in tax litigation. She went on to lead the national tax disputes practice and serve as Regional Group Manager of Specialized Business Law and National Leader of our Tax Disputes team.
Known for her dedication and precision, Laurie has represented clients across Canada, appearing before the Supreme Court of Canada, all levels of court in Alberta and Québec, the Federal Courts, the Tax Court of Canada, and courts in British Columbia, Saskatchewan, and Nova Scotia.
Laurie’s commitment to the profession extends beyond the courtroom. Throughout her career, she has chaired the Tax Court Bench and Bar Committee of the Canadian Bar Association, served as a Governor of the Canadian Tax Foundation, and a regular speaker at professional development programs and conferences. Laurie has been invested in mentoring students and lawyers and supporting mental health and wellness in the legal community.
