Toronto (March 1, 2018) — Borden Ladner Gervais LLP (BLG) is pleased to announce that Mathieu Piché-Messier,, a partner and the leader of Montreal’s Commercial Litigation Group, has been inducted as a fellow into the American College of Trial Lawyers ("ACTL") in a selection by peers.
Fellowship in the ACTL is extended only by invitation and is restricted to no more than 1 per cent of lawyers in any state or province. Admittance only occurs after careful investigation to those experienced trial lawyers who the ACTL considers to have mastered the art of advocacy and whose professional careers have been marked by the highest standards of ethical conduct, professionalism, civility and collegiality. Additionally, members must also possess the highest moral standards, as well as exemplary character to be considered for a fellowship.
Mr. Piché-Messier is one of the youngest fellows ever to be admitted since the organization’s inception and the 13th active BLG lawyer in the ACTL. Mathieu practises in all areas of commercial litigation and arbitration, including fraud; domestic commercial arbitration; intellectual property litigation; competition and foreign investment review; information technology; privacy and data protection; and cybersecurity.
