Husayn summered with BLG Vancouver in 2023 and assisted lawyers on a wide variety of tasks within our Business and Disputes groups. Husayn is clerking at the Federal Court of Canada in 2024/2025, and will return to the firm thereafter.

Husayn previously worked for various federal government departments in areas of social policy, including 2SLGBTQ+ and Indigenous inclusion. During law school, they were an associate editor for the Ottawa Law Review and worked as a teaching assistant for the first-year Public and Constitutional Law course. For the last few years, Husayn worked at a boutique firm specializing in labour, employment, privacy, and aviation law.

Husayn chose BLG for the firm’s leading disputes practice, particularly in international commercial arbitration matters. They were also impressed by the friendly and community-oriented team, and the firm’s commitment to advancing equity, diversity, and inclusion initiatives within the legal profession.

Husayn enjoys reading and playing the cello. In their spare time, they also like to bake, play grand strategy games, and sample different varietals of tea.
