Roya is an articling student at BLG’s Toronto office. She is focusing on disputes.
As a former law student at the University of Toronto, Roya volunteered with Downtown Legal Services (DLS), and the Barbra Schlifer Commemorative Clinic. She also led the schools peer-mentor program and was a JD program ambassador.
During her time at U of T, Roya also participated in the school’s mooting program. She participated in the 1L Hamish Stewart Cup in her first year, and the Winkler Class Actions Moot in her second year where she took home the prize for second best oralist. Roya also gave back to the mooting program by acting as a student coach for numerous moot competitions.
Before joining BLG, Roya gained valuable experience as a full-time student caseworker in the housing division of DLS and as an intern at the House of Commons. Prior to law school, she obtained her Bachelor of Commerce from the Smith School of Business at Queen’s University.
Roya chose to work at BLG because of the diverse litigation practice and the opportunity to work in a collaborative and supportive environment.
In Roya’s spare time you can find her discovering new local restaurants, learning a new language, spending time with family and friends, or doing a dance-based workout class.
