Elizabeth practices regulatory and administrative law, with a particular focus on transportation matters.

Her regulatory and disputes practice includes advancing and defending Canadian Transportation Agency proceedings, including noise and vibration complaints, crossing applications, and applications for authorizations for new railway construction. Elizabeth handles appeals from administrative decisions, including Agency decisions appealed to the Federal Court of Appeal. Elizabeth also advises on submissions to government agencies on proposed regulations and standards.

In addition to her advocacy work, Elizabeth provides regulatory and commercial advice across Canada, including:

  1. negotiating rail crossing agreements, facility rights of way agreements for linear energy and telecommunications infrastructure, services agreements, and leases and licences of railway property;
  2. facilitating construction projects on railway lands including the closure of existing rail crossing and the development of transportation infrastructure;
  3. providing sundry regulatory compliance advice in connection with railway operations and other transportation matters; and
  4. advising institutional landowners on development matters, including disputes with municipalities.

Elizabeth has appeared before the Federal Court, Federal Court of Appeal, provincial and superior courts of British Columbia and Alberta, and the Canadian Transportation Agency.
