Nathalie Olivier is a senior paralegal at our Montréal office and has been working in the Financial Services Group since 2005. She has in-depth experience with all aspects of financing.
Nathalie assists lawyers of the Financial Services Group by taking an active role in the establishment of financings for banks and other financial institutions, alternative and private lenders, as well as borrowers. Her expertise covers the drafting of financing, security and related agreements (including closing checklists, credit agreements, as well as deeds of immovable hypothec and deeds of movable hypothec). She also deals with other documents related to financings, such as guarantees, subordination agreements, priority agreements, opinions, resolutions, certificates, etc. Nathalie manages and coordinates due diligence reviews within the firm and reviews and analyzes due diligence documents and corporate documents drafted by other law firms. She also deals with the registration of security and all elements related to the publication of creditors' rights, and the drafting of related agreements.
Nathalie works mainly on traditional bank financing agreements for domestic and cross-border transactions, including syndicated loans and club deals, as well as securitization transactions. She is called upon to work on leasing or instalment sales, asset-based loans, alternative financing and project financing in the energy field.
Nathalie has also taken part in various transactions dealing with the long-term financing of real estate properties and construction loans for residential and commercial projects, thereby developing particular expertise in these areas.
Prior to joining Borden Ladner Gervais LLP, she worked for more than 10 years with another national law firm in a similar role.
