National (July 4, 2023) — Borden Ladner Gervais LLP (BLG) is pleased to announce that Cindy Clarke has been appointed Toronto Regional Managing Partner and Vincent Frenette as Montréal Regional Managing Partner, effective July 1, 2023.
In Toronto, Cindy will oversee the achievement of the Toronto office's strategic goals and objectives which include enhancing our engagement with and support of the Greater Hamilton and Toronto Area (GHTA) business community and our broader community. With a career spanning over 25 years, Cindy is widely recognized for her knowledge, experience and dedication to clients. She is one of BLG’s most senior leaders and sits on the National Management Committee, acting as a liaison and relationship partner for major clients of the firm.
In her practice, Cindy represents and is an advisor to many clients in the health sector focusing particularly on hospitals, defence of malpractice actions and representing her clients in all manner of civil and regulatory disputes. Cindy also has a class action defence practice focused on defending claims pertaining to misrepresentation of the health effects of a product or pharmaceutical.
While assuming the role of Regional Managing Partner, Cindy will maintain her practice and professional engagements. Cindy is succeeding Andrew Harrison, who has served as Regional Managing Partner for the past nine years.
In Montréal, as Regional Managing Partner, Vincent will also drive the office’s strategic goals and objectives and ensure a high-quality service delivery to all clients and will sit on the National Management Committee. In his practice, Vincent acts as strategic adviser to BLG clients on a wide range of financial services and corporate matters, with a focus in the area of corporate finance, acting mainly on behalf of lenders (including all major Canadian banks) and also on behalf of borrowers for the financing of private and public corporations, mainly via syndicated transactions. He has more than 25 years of experience and is known for his practical, efficient and results-oriented approach.
While assuming the role of Regional Managing Partner, Vincent will maintain his practice and professional engagements. Vincent is succeeding André Dufour, who has held the role for six years.
