National (December 7, 2022) - Borden Ladner Gervais LLP (BLG) won the Innovation in new services category at the Financial Times Innovative Lawyers North America awards. The awards, held on December 5 in New York City, recognize the best in innovation from law firms and in-house legal teams in North America.
Nicole St-Louis accepted BLG’s award on behalf of BLG’s Beyond Leasing and Beyond Consulting teams, who successfully delivered the winning Ivanhoé Cambridge mandate.
BLG Beyond is BLG’s in-house alternative legal service provider. With the win of this mandate, team members of Ivanhoé Cambridge, a Canadian real estate company based in Montréal with assets around the world, joined BLG Beyond Leasing making it one of the largest specialized legal leasing teams in Canada. This win underscores the commitment BLG has made to deliver market-leading legal innovation through BLG Beyond and the Firm’s overarching innovation strategy.
BLG was also shortlisted in the Innovation in people and skills management category for our efforts to transform how we deliver legal services through legal project management.
Lisa Chamandy, BLG’s Chief Knowledge and Innovation Officer, was also shortlisted for individual change maker category and was named “the moderniser” in the Most Innovative Intrapreneur category at the awards.
