Bill 142 was introduced in the Ontario Legislature in May 2017 and will modernize the existing Act, introduce prompt payment in Ontario, and implement adjudication as an expeditious dispute resolution mechanism.
The Canadian Lawyer Top 25 Most Influential Lawyers, now in its 9th year, honours select members of the country's legal community in five categories: Changemakers; Government/Non-Profits/Associations; Criminal/Human Rights Law; Corporate-Commercial; and Corporate Counsel. To determine the Top 25 each year, Canadian Lawyer conducts a public call for nominations, and those shortlisted by the editorial panel are voted on by readers through an online poll. The final list of 25 is based on that poll with the input of the Canadian Lawyer editorial panel.
