Summary Section Content 1BLG’s focus on the United States centres on two distinct offerings: providing advice and counsel on Canadian law to thousands of U.S. businesses that are directly or indirectly active in Canada, and providing introductions and/or referrals to our network of U.S. law firms to assist Canadian companies doing business in the United States. BLG is one of the few major Canadian law firms that does not have a U.S. office. Our strategy is to establish strong partnerships with U.S. law firms so that we can better serve our clients crossing the border. By leveraging our relationships with U.S. firms, we can better assist our Canadian clients in the U.S.Equally important, since we only practice Canadian law, and our laws are different than those in the U.S., we work with U.S. companies to solve their legal challenges in Canada. Our U.S. clients know that we will not try to expand our scope outside of Canada, giving them confidence in our focus and service quality. U.S. companies operating in Canada need local counsel to help them navigate our laws in ways that they understand. We offer a full spectrum of support to U.S. companies operating in Canada including: M&A, Labor & Employment, IP, Oil & Gas, Mining & Commodities, Securities and Capital Markets, Corporate Law, Regulatory, Commercial Litigation, Public and Private Partnerships, and Tax.
