Valérie Olivier is a member of BLG’s Corporate Commercial Group. Her practice focuses on corporate and financial transactions, with a particular emphasis on mergers and acquisitions, infrastructure projects and corporate finance.

Valérie's practice includes:

  • Acting for vendors, purchasers and other stakeholders in connection with divestitures and acquisitions.
  • Advising on corporate/commercial transactions, including corporate reorganizations and combinations.
  • Acting for bidders and successful bidders in infrastructure projects.

Valérie was both a summer student and an articling student at BLG before returning as an associate in 2019.

  • Advised Leidos Holdings, Inc. on Canadian matters in connection with its US$380 million acquisition of Gibbs & Cox.
  • Advised The New York Times on Canadian matters in connection with its US$550 million acquisition of The Athletic.

  • Acted for the successful bidder for the design, construction and financing of senior homes and alternative homes in the region of Saguenay-Lac St-Jean.
  • Acted for the successful bidder for the design, construction and financing of senior homes and alternative homes in the regions of Laval, Laurentian and Lanaudière.
  • Acted for the successful bidder on the design, construction and financing project for the Brampton courthouse in Ontario and the related detention centre.
  • Acted for the successful bidder in the design, build and finance project for a group of four high schools.
  • Acted for the successful bidder in the design, build and finance project for a new hospital in Vaudreuil-Soulanges.
  • Acted for Renouveau La Fontaine inc. and Renouveau La Fontaine C-C s.e.n.c. in the design, build and finance project for major repair work on the Louis-Hippolyte-La Fontaine tunnel, as well as other related work and its refinancing.
  • Acting for a qualified bidder in the design, build, finance and maintenance project for the Quebec tramway project (underway 2022-2023).
  • Acting for a qualified bidder in the design, build, finance and maintenance project for the new roof of the Montreal Olympic Stadium.
