BLG’s translation of the Commission d’accès à l’information consent guidelines

On Oct. 31, 2023, the Québec privacy regulator, the Commission d'accès à l'information (CAI), published the final and official version of its guidelines on consent. However, the CAI has confirmed that it would not be publishing an English version of this document. Given the strong interest of organizations throughout Canada for this important source of legal interpretation, BLG's Privacy and Data Protection Group is happy to make available an English version of these Consent Guidelines. Readers should keep in mind that it is not an official translation, and one should always consult the original in case of doubt.
