Colm practices in the areas of energy, regulatory, renewables, corporate and commercial law. Colm routinely represents electricity clients in proceedings before provincial regulatory agencies, primarily the Ontario Energy Board. He has also advised clients on regulatory matters before the Alberta Utilities Commission, Alberta Energy Regulator, Canada Energy Regulator, and various other provincial and federal tribunals concerned with energy regulation and development.
Colm's expertise extends to all aspects of renewable energy project development, including permitting, regulatory, land acquisition, Indigenous and environmental matters. He has been the lead associate on several due diligence mandates for the acquisition of renewable energy facilities. As regulatory counsel, he advises on rate applications, compliance, licensing, affiliate relationships, project development and commercial agreements (Power Purchase Agreements), and the transfer of regulatory and environmental approvals.
