Our summer program involves no formal rotations: you'll choose to work in either the Litigation or Business Law department. This means you can take on work in a variety of practice areas and get to know and learn from many lawyers in your chosen department.
Your summer begins with a comprehensive orientation to acquaint you with the Firm and its many resources. You'll be assigned a mentor who will answer your questions about the Firm, the work and life in the legal profession. You'll also attend weekly training sessions to introduce you to many areas of practice and teach you about practice management.
You'll get hands-on experience performing tasks much the same as those undertaken by our articling students. You'll conduct research, assist with all aspects of a business transaction, handle Small Claims Court matters, and draft contracts and pleadings. You'll also attend discoveries, court appearances and meetings with clients.
