Your rotation schedule will be tailored to your interests and previous experience as a summer student.
Your articling experience begins with an in-depth orientation to BLG Montréal and all its resources. You’ll also attend professional development seminars geared to stagiaires, such as:
- communicating with clients
- preparing for and arguing a motion
- file and practice management
BLG Montréal articling students are also invited to participate in Firm-wide training programs offered throughout the year to all our lawyers.
Open door mentoring
You’ll be assigned a mentor and a maître de stage to support you throughout your articling experience. Your mentor will meet with you regularly to monitor your workload and ensure you receive a wide variety of files and projects.
You’ll be assigned work by lawyers directly: tasks much the same as those undertaken by junior associates. This work may include attending meetings, drafting and pleading motions, conducting discoveries, preparing and signing letters of demands, and drafting contracts.
