David Crerar is a partner in our Vancouver office. He practises in the area of civil and commercial litigation, with a focus on media law and defamation, shareholder disputes, protection of trade secrets, Internet litigation, and banking and pension litigation. He serves as the Firm's National Leader for our Defamation and Media Group.
David served as a Professor at the University of British Columbia Faculty of Law, lecturing in civil procedure for 15 years (2004-2018). He is a co-editor and author of The Civil Litigation Process, the most widely-used civil procedure text in Canadian law schools, and of the award-winning book British Columbia Business Disputes. He is also the author of Mareva and Anton Piller Orders in Canada: A Practical Guide. He is a prolific author and speaker on a wide variety of legal topics, including banking law, class proceedings, media and defamation law, Internet law, injunctions, and civil procedure. He is also co-author of the bestselling hiking and historic guide, The Glorious Mountains of Vancouver’s North Shore.
