Mekhala Chaubal is an associate in the Intellectual Property Group in our Toronto office. She advises clients on their intellectual property matters, including on trademark protection and enforcement matters.
Her particular interests include copyright law and the publishing industry, developing trends in emerging economies, and the protection of traditional knowledge and intangible cultural heritage through intellectual property law.
Mekhala was an active blogger and contributor to Osgoode Hall Law School's IPilogue and TheCourt.ca publications, and served as Managing Editor of the German Law Journal for two consecutive years.
Prior to attending law school, Mekhala worked as a researcher and writer for a Toronto-based non-profit organization focused on promoting awareness among youth globally, through the use of Internet and Communications Technologies (ICTs).
Mekhala is also fluent in Hindi and Marathi.
