James Woods practises in the area of corporate commercial litigation and arbitration, and is called upon to make representations in various proceedings before the Courts of Québec. James is also a member of BLG’s Aboriginal Law Group.
James' practice focuses primarily upon construction litigation, and is required to provide counsel in the context of matters pertaining to hypothecary claims, surety bonds, public calls for tenders, RBQ licensing and other construction-related matters. James also regularly advises clients in relation to product liability matters and has represented various clients in the context of litigation pertaining to commercial leasing matters, franchising matters, shareholder disputes, co-ownership disputes, and estate matters. James has further had the opportunity to represent defendant parties in various high-profile class actions. James is also a member of BLG’s Team North and advises various active Inuit organizations in Nunavik.
James is proficient in French, English, Japanese and Spanish.
