Carolyn Wong  


Executive Summary

Carolyn Wong is an associate in our Toronto office and a member of the firm’s GCR100-ranked Competition, Antitrust and Foreign Investment Review Group. Her practice focuses on all aspects of Canadian competition and foreign investment review law, including mergers and acquisitions, cartel investigations, private actions (including class actions), advertising and marketing practices, abuse of dominance and other reviewable trade practices. 

Carolyn is a member of the Competition Litigation, International, and Criminal Matters Committee of the CBA National Competition Law Section.

Prior to joining BLG, she clerked for the Honourable Justice John B. Laskin at the Federal Court of Appeal and Honourable Justice James Russell at the Federal Court of Canada.

During law school, Carolyn was a Visiting Student at the University of Oxford.

Carolyn is conversational in Cantonese.

Representative Work

  • Acting for Loblaw Companies Limited, George Weston Limited and certain of their affiliates in class actions across Canada alleging price fixing in respect of wholesale and retail sales of fresh commercial bread and in the related Bureau conspiracy investigation.
  • Acting for KEMET Corporation and KEMET Electronics Corporation in multiple class actions across Canada alleging price fixing in respect of sales of capacitors, including with respect to cross-border issues arising out of parallel U.S. class actions and international antitrust investigations.
