Executive Summary

Alan Sless is a partner in the Toronto office of Borden Ladner Gervais LLP. Alan practises commercial real estate law, and has extensive experience in acquisitions, dispositions, leasing, development, joint ventures, co-ownerships and financing involving real estate, including condominium projects, shopping centres, office and industrial complexes. Alan is a member of the Firm's Bank of Nova Scotia Client Team, HSBC Bank Canada National Client Team and Commercial Lending Practice Group.

Representative Work

  • Structures business relationships in respect of joint ventures, co-ownerships and partnerships relating to land assemblies, development projects, commercial, industrial and multi-residential properties.
  • Advises purchasers, vendors, lenders, developers, landlords and tenants in all aspects of commercial real estate law.
  • Acts for banks including, Bank of Nova Scotia, HSBC Bank, JP Morgan and Bank of America in respect of financings, security reviews, restructuring and realizations, including syndicated loans and multi-jurisdictional loans relating to real estate based financing.
  • Acts for developers in connection with residential and commercial condominium developments, multi-unit residential buildings, residential subdivision projects and lot sales.
  • Acts for municipalities in respect of affordable housing loans to not-for-profit organizations.
  • Acts on all real estate aspects and lending aspects relating to mining industry.
