Kushal Shah is a Patent Law Clerk in the Intellectual Property Department of our Ottawa office, and has been working in the area of Intellectual Property since 2010. Kushal’s current focus is on foreign patent filings and prosecution and he assists the Firm’s patent agents and clients with all aspects of patent prosecution, including filing patent applications in various jurisdictions, preparing and filing formal documents with Patent Offices, recording transfers and changes in ownership against patent portfolios, and liaising with foreign associates and clients. He is knowledgeable about PCT, United States, Indian and other foreign jurisdictions laws, regulations and procedures for filing, prosecution and licensing of patents.
Prior to joining the Firm, Kushal headed the intellectual property department of a high-tech company in India involved in building a robust e-learning platform, where he managed patent portfolios for the high-tech company and its clients. He is registered as a Patent Agent with the Indian Patent Office and as an Advocate with the Bar Council of India. He also has extensive experience in filing and prosecution of Industrial Designs, Trademarks and Copyrights.
