Executive Summary

Francis Lussier is an associate in the Corporate Commercial Group in our Montréal office. He focuses his practice on mergers and acquisitions, corporate financing, as well as the drafting and negotiation of commercial agreements.

Before his legal studies, Francis participated in a number of research projects designed to shed light on the mysteries of cancer, in a laboratory now recognized as one of most innovative research centres in Québec. He also worked in the civil engineering laboratory at McGill University on an environmental remediation project for Québec.

Francis also serves as a volunteer with Pro Bono Students Canada, writing articles on current legal issues in Québec, and has been involved in projects and competitions in the finance and administration industries.

Francis speaks French and English fluently.

Representative Work

  • Acted for Black & McDonald Limited, a national multi-trade contractor, to expand its operations in Québec's utility market through the acquisition of Pierre Brossard (1981) ltée, a leading construction enterprise in the electrical and civil engineering sector.
  • Served on a legal team for the Fonds de solidarité (FTQ), in the context of its $70,000,000 investment in EBI, a leading enterprise in the field of waste management, renewable energy production, and the use and distribution of natural gas in the Province of Québec.
  • Served on a legal team to Texas-based HollyFrontier Corporation in connection with its acquisition of Suncor Energy's Petro-Canada Lubricants business for CAD $1.125 billion.
  • Served on a team of legal advisors for the ProMetic Group.
  • Assisted various pharmaceutical companies with their business projects.
  • Served on a team of legal advisors involved with the acquisition of a Québec food service business.
  • Regularly assists in transactions in several industries.
