Maddie Axelrod is a management-side labour and employment lawyer in the Toronto office of Borden Ladner Gervais LLP. Her practice includes employment, labour, human rights, and education law.
Maddie advises and represents both private and public sector employers on a wide range of issues, including employee terminations, discipline, restrictive covenants, contracts and policies, employment standards, health and safety, union grievances, unfair labour practice complaints, collective bargaining, and human rights applications.
Maddie’s hybrid practice comprises both advice-based solicitor work and advocacy-based litigation work. It also includes a focus on executive compensation for hospitals, school boards, and other broader public sector organizations.
Maddie joined BLG in 2013 as a summer student, and then articled with the firm. She returned as an associate after her call to the bar in 2015.
