Toronto (June 9, 2016) — In honour of Pride Month, Borden Ladner Gervais LLP (BLG) is celebrating diversity and inclusion in the workplace. BLG recently honoured the International Day against Homophobia and Transphobia and introduced its new Transgender Inclusivity and Accommodation Policy. This policy was developed to provide practical guidance on supporting, respecting and accommodating transgender individuals, and preventing harassment and discrimination on the basis of gender identity and expression.

“This policy demonstrates BLG’s commitment to creating an environment of true inclusion and increased diversity,” said Laleh Moshiri, national director of Diversity and Inclusion at BLG. “It is our latest initiative to ensure diversity issues are understood and appreciated within the firm, and builds on several other initiatives and programs we’ve put in place over the years.”

BLG is also celebrating Pride Month by offering a client seminar on June 16 on the legal obligations of implementing accommodations and best practices in creating a trans-inclusive workplace. Our clients will benefit from concrete examples and innovative solutions, building better communities. The event will be hosted in Toronto and broadcast nationally across the firm.
