Calgary (May 6, 2014) — Borden Ladner Gervais LLP (BLG) welcomed Ira Cooper to the Banking and Financial Services Group and Corporate Finance and Securities Group in Calgary. His practice focuses on corporate finance and, in particular, banking, corporate lending, commercial lending, project finance, structured finance, acquisition financing and Personal Property Security Act matters.

Mr. Cooper acts for both lenders and borrowers as well as investors and issuers in connection with numerous types of domestic, cross-border and international debt financings. Recent transactions have included major acquisition financings, corporate credits, financings of private-equity takeovers, private placements, bond issuances, cross-border financings, cash flow financings, and margined financings. He received a B.Sc., from the University of Alberta in 1998 and his LL.B. from the University of Alberta in 2002. Mr. Cooper was called to the Alberta bar in 2003.
