Toronto (April 2, 2014) — Borden Ladner Gervais LLP (BLG) is pleased to announce today that it was selected as the Lexology Client Choice Awards 2014 provincial winner in British Columbia. Seven of the Firm’s practitioners also received individual accolades from the publication across varying practice areas and provinces.

The Lexology Client Choice Awards recognise those law firms and partners around the world that stand apart for the excellent client service they provide. The criteria for the awards focus on the ability to add real value to clients’ businesses above and beyond other players in the market. Uniquely, these awards survey senior corporate counsel only.

“Excellent service is the cornerstone of everything that we do at BLG,” said Sean Weir, BLG’s national managing partner and CEO. “Our Firm motto ‘it begins with service’ speaks to the fact that service excellence is the mindset that we cultivate and nurture every day at BLG. We are proud to be the Lexology Firm winner in BC for 2014 and proud of the accolades received by our lawyers. Recognition from our clients is proof-positive that our client service strategy is closely aligned to what they value most and what they need.”

Seven of the Firm’s partners received an award in the following categories:

This year’s Lexology Client Choice Awards winners were chosen from a pool of more than 2,000 individual client assessments. The publication conducts a readership survey of International Law Office (ILO) and Lexology in-house counsel subscribers. Clients are asked to rate individual lawyers and law firms on the following client service criteria: quality of legal advice, value for money, commercial awareness, effective communication, billing transparency, tailored fee structures, response time, sharing of expertise and use of technology.
