Calgary (March 4, 2014) — Daniel Sears has joined Borden Ladner Gervais LLP (BLG), a pre-eminent, 750-lawyer full-service firm, as partner in the Calgary Banking and Financial Services Group.  With over fifteen years of practice, Daniel brings extensive experience in corporate finance, specifically in banking, corporate lending, project finance and acquisition finance.

Daniel’s expertise in the financial services sector is well recognized.  In his fifteen year practice, he has acted as lead counsel for some of the most prominent oil and gas companies, as well as many of Canada’s largest banks.  His extensive expertise focuses on the oil and gas, capital markets, private transactions, secured lending and project finance sectors.  In these areas of the law, Daniel has assisted clients with major acquisition financings, private placements and cross-border financings.

In addition, he is recognized by the Canadian Legal Lexpert Directory.  Prior to joining BLG, Daniel was partner and head of the Financial Services Group at the Calgary office of another major Canadian law firm.
