Calgary (August 26, 2013) — Borden Ladner Gervais LLP (BLG) is pleased to announce that Kevin Keyes has joined the Firm’s Calgary office as a partner in its commercial real estate group, effective August 26, 2013.

Kevin is a seasoned specialist in real estate, real estate financing and real property development. He has routinely advised numerous clients on land assembly, annexation, purchase, subdivision, and re-zoning. He also has widespread knowledge in the areas of development approvals, financing, leasing, management and sale of commercial and industrial projects, as well as public/private sector initiatives.

Kevin, throughout his career, has facilitated regulatory and by-law approvals and compliance and has participated in the negotiation and preparation of complex commercial agreements and security documentation.

Kevin is also recognized as a leading lawyer in the area of property development by the Canadian Legal Lexpert® Directory, a guide to the leading law firms and practitioners in Canada, as well as by the Euromoney Guide to the World’s Leading Real Estate Lawyers.

A graduate of Dalhousie University, he obtained both his LLB and MBA in 1983.  He was called to the Alberta bar in 1984 and was most recently a partner in the Calgary office of another Canadian law firm.
