Toronto (February 19, 2016) — Borden Ladner Gervais LLP (BLG) is proud to announce that two of its partners have been named Lawyer of the Year in their respective practice areas, and the Firm has been recognized as the Pro Bono Firm of the Year at the 2016 Benchmark Canada Awards. BLG Lawyers of the Year are:

  • Robert J.C. Deane — Arbitration Lawyer of the Year
  • Michael C. Smith — Product Liability Lawyer of the Year

Mr. Deane is the national leader of the firm's International Trade and Arbitration Group, and practises international and domestic commercial arbitration.
