Key Responsibilities

The key responsibilities of this role are:

  • Post journal entries
  • Prepare accounting schedules
  • Reconcile GL accounts (Prepaid, Fixed Assets, Accounts Payable)
  • Process confidential cheques for payroll
  • Review and monitor unapplied trust report / suspense account
  • Reconcile trust bank accounts
  • Assists in month-end preparation and review of Financial Statements
  • Process GST and QST payments
  • Prepare annual CDIC reports
  • Prepare annual Directorship reports, CBA and Barreau du Québec reports
  • Prepare annual client T5 for distribution
  • Assists in annual regional budget preparation
  • Prepare bank confirmations for audit

Key Competencies Required

  • Accounting studies or related field
  • A minimum of five years of experience in a similar role
  • Bilingualism – English and French
  • Experience working in a legal or professional services environment, an asset
  • Established knowledge of Microsoft Office suite software (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and CRM
  • Knowledge of CMS OPEN, an asset
  • Strong time management skills and ability to manage a variety of concurrent projects
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Strong teamwork skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment; with strong attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
