BLG’s Environmental, Municipal, Expropriation and Regulatory Group (EMER) is home to many of Canada’s most highly recognized expropriation, municipal, environmental and regulatory lawyers. Housed within Canada’s largest law firm, this specialized group represents many of Ontario’s municipalities as well as significant public institutions and private corporations.

Our Ottawa office is seeking a highly motivated and ambitious lawyer with 3 – 5 years of relevant experience to join our team.

The successful candidate will bring their experience to a team of talented and leading lawyers in the highly specialized areas of Municipal, Planning & Expropriation and Commercial Real Estate law. Candidates with strong drafting skills and interest in land use, development and real estate are encouraged to apply. The successful candidate must be able to hit the ground running, possess a superior academic record and be a member in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to develop their skills and career as part of a talented team. With BLG’s national ongoing professional development/legal education program, the successful candidate will obtain advanced training, mentoring and exposure to the firm’s clients while being supported to build their own practice and expertise. This is an ideal position for someone who is a consummate team player, has strong analytical, interpersonal, and oral and written communication skills, takes initiative, and seeks an opportunity to be allowed to further develop beyond their current skill level.
