Andrew Sojonky is regional leader of our Ottawa Intellectual Property and Technology Group.  He is a registered Canadian patent agent in both our Ottawa and Calgary offices.

He is ranked as one of the world's leading patent practitioners (IAM Patent 1000) and as an IP Star (Managing Intellectual Property IP Stars Handbook). 

Andrew specializes in patent procurement in chemical and mechanical technologies, including oil & gas (upstream and downstream, including oil sands extraction), mining, carbon capture and sequestration, chemistry, material science, metallurgy, clean-tech, and medical devices.  He also provides opinions on patentability, scope of protection, validity, and infringement, and advises clients on global patent portfolio management. Moreover, Andrew has an extensive industrial design practice assisting clients with protecting the aesthetic features of their products.
