Executive Summary

Yves Ménard is the Business Law Leader of our Ottawa office. Yves focuses on real estate, corporate/commercial, construction and procurement law, with particular emphasis on real estate financing, construction contracts, procurement and business acquisition. His clients include public institutions such as hospitals, community colleges and school boards as well as owner- managed businesses. He is fluently bilingual in French and English, and practises in both official languages.

Representative Work

  • Acts for public institutions with respect to all their real estate, construction and procurement law requirements.
  • Advises public institutions on complex public-private infrastructure projects from recreational facilities to hospital projects.
  • Advises both tenants and landlords with respect to the negotiation, preparation and enforcement of commercial leases.
  • Advises various owner-managed business on all their commercial law requirements including contract review and preparation, purchase and sale of business, and tax reorganizations.
  • Represents individuals with respect to their wealth, management needs from the preparation of wills and powers of attorneys to estate administration.
  • Acts for financial institutions and borrowers with respect to all their financing needs.
