Jacob represents both Canadian and international clients in customs, anti-dumping and countervailing duty, and investment dispute litigation, including a recent NAFTA Chapter 11 investment arbitration. Jacob provides strategic advice to businesses on customs compliance, procurement, sanctions, and export controls, and to government clients on free trade agreements and WTO matters.
Before pursuing law, Jacob was an elected Ward Councillor in the Township of Uxbridge, and worked in an advisory capacity to both a Federal and Provincial Member of Parliament.
As a law student at Queen’s University, Jacob competed in the Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot in Vienna, Austria and pre-moots in Montréal, Washington, New York, Belgrade, and Budapest. He was the recipient of the WeirFoulds LLP Award in Remedies Law.
Jacob also participated in an exchange with the National University of Singapore, Faculty of Law.
