Executive Summary

Kim Dullet is a partner in the Ottawa office. Within her litigation practice, Kim focuses on the health care sector. She regularly acts as counsel for hospitals and their employees in medical malpractice cases.

Kim provides health care institutions with general advisory services in areas including risk management, privacy, adverse events and quality of care reviews. She also advises clients in the long-term care home sector on issues involving substitute decision makers and mental health law. 

Kim also assists and represents regulated health professionals in proceedings before their regulatory colleges and the Health Professions Appeal and Review Board.  

Representative Work

  • Provides healthcare institutions with general advisory services in areas including risk management, personal health information and privacy, disruptive physicians, quality of care reviews and coroners inquests.
  • Acts as counsel for hospitals and nurses in medical malpractice cases.
  • Acts as counsel for physicians and hospitals in consent and capacity proceedings before the Consent and Capacity Board, as well as in appeals before the Superior Court of Justice.
  • Represents nurses before the College of Nurses of Ontario and the Health Professions Appeal and Review Board.
  • Acts on behalf of a number of insurers in respect of personal injury, general liability and professional negligence claims.
  • Acts as counsel for physicians and hospitals for applications for the secure treatment of minors before the Superior Court of Justice.
